Thailand - the land famous for its golden temples, spirited cities, dreamy beaches, and fantastic food - now introduces you to the epitome of luxurious stays at the Hilton Hotels. From the cityscapes of Bangkok to the serene beaches of Phuket, we shall explore the depth and richness of Thai hospitality, one Hilton hotel at a time.Without further ado, let's take a closer look at the top 10 Hilton Hotels in Thailand.
Waldorf Astoria Bangkok
- Opening Year: August 2018
- Reference Price: $300
- Points for a free room: 90,000 points
- Location: Core area - within walking distance to the Erawan Shrine (Four-Faced Buddha)
- Hotel website:Waldorf Astoria Bangkok
The hotel is situated in Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard tower, a 60-story building owned by MQDC. However, the hotel only occupies up to the 16th floor, with the remaining parts being apartments owned by MQDC. The name "Magnolia" is in the owner's name, which inspired the design of the building to look like a blossoming magnolia flower. Its elegant profile shines brightly from the ground up, making it a noticeable landmark in Bangkok's skyline.
As soon as you step into the hotel, you feel the strong masculine vibe thanks to the design of André Fu. Open spaces filled with marble, metal, and numerous metallic lines, the usage of pillars, ivory color and brass all contributes to the visual cooling against the outdoor heat, a style similar to the St. Regis Hotel in Hong Kong which was also designed by him.
The hotel has 170 guest rooms, with basic rooms spanning 50 square meters. The design is austere yet dignified. Following a shutdown period, the hotel reopened with improved services and upgrades. Now, large bottles of Aesop products can be found in the bathroom.
The upgrade provided a 75 square meter deluxe king suite. The metal screen within the room is my personal favourite. Although the hotel does not have a lounge, there are two restaurants and bars at the top of the tower including the renowned Bull & Bear on the 55th floor, making it a fine place to unwind. The breakfast is impressive with various egg dishes deserving praise.
The open-air swimming pool on the 16th floor is photogenic, though not quite big, and it can be especially windy. Most guests would come, snap some photos then leave. Due to ongoing construction nearby, quieter rooms can be requested at the front desk.
Conrad Bangkok Residences
- Opening Year: 2012 (Renovated in 2019)
- Reference Price: Hotel $170, Residences $110
- Points for a free room: 37,000 - 48,000 points
- Location: Pathum Wan District
- Hotel website:Conrad Bangkok Residences
This hotel has been on my recommendation list, especially since its renovation in 2019, and the rates have remained affordable. Its location is not immediately near a Skytrain station, about a 10-minute walk away. Yet, it's situated in the All Seasons Place, which is the biggest office complex in the area, offering free shuttle services to the Skytrain station even for hotel guests. They even provide special seats for guests and run frequent shuttles.
The renovation was spearheaded by CCD, incorporating plenty of Thai style into the modern decor. Thai pagodas serve as decorative elements in the high backdrops, resonating well with the wall behind the front desk.

Reflecting on the renovated rooms (please note, not all rooms were renovated), the original Conrad's classic local Thai style was completely switched to a contemporary style. The use of copper metals adds a touch of modernity, while the fabric sofas enhance a cozy home feel. If you are assigned an old room upon check-in, as a Hilton Honors Diamond status member, you can request a change or confirm it at the time of check-in.
The outdoor pool area is surrounded by ASP's buildings. This layout shields it from the scorching afternoon sun and maintains the water at an ideal temperature. Plus, the pool area is quite expansive.
Millennium Hilton Bangkok
- Renovation Year: 2019
- Reference Price: $160
- Points for a free room: 60,000 points
- Location: Along the Chao Phraya River
- Hotel website:Millennium Hilton Bangkok
Upon recognizing Hilton Honor Gold and Diamond members, the front desk will escort you to the executive lounge. Here, while savoring afternoon tea, you can complete the check-in process. For early arrivers, say from an early flight, the lounge or the gym's shower facilities are available for use ahead of check-in.
The hotel underwent renovations in 2019, hence both the public areas and rooms are far from antiquated. Room renovation was completed in 2019, with the rest of the areas finished gradually by the end of 2020.
The ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge and its rooftop counterpart are among the hotel's most popular sites. The ICONSIAM shopping center is just a short walk from the hotel, providing ample dining and shopping options. The night market down the building, although a bit pricey, is a cleaner option which supports the hotel's flourishing business, making it a Hilton flagship. The lounge's reviews and reputation are also commendable.
The hotel has over 500 rooms, with Hilton Honors Diamond members often allocated to executive rooms boasting river views. These rooms feature understatedly elegant decor with a touch of Thai charm, making them comfortable for guests. Bath amenities have switched over to larger containers, and drinking water is supplied in glass bottles. Even though the rooms do not offer floor-to-ceiling windows, the stunning river view, especially at night, makes up for it.
Additionally, both the gym and the pool are quite spacious, with the pool facing the river providing a great photo opportunity. Given its great location and comprehensive amenities, it's no wonder the rates often beat those of Conrad. Yet, I still highly recommend it. Conrad leans more towards a business hotel and is more centrally located, while Millennium offers better holiday vibes and views, including free shuttles every half hour to the Skytrain station. Just keep in mind if you have an early flight, it's advisable not to spend your last night here due to potential traffic to the airport.
Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok
- Renovated: Yes
- Reference Price: $160
- Points for a free room: 39,000 - 70,000 points
- Location: Khlong Toei District
- Hotel website:Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok
The hotel's location is superb, nestled right next to EmQuartier. The surrounding area, in contrast to the bustling and somewhat chaotic Siam, is cleaner and calmer. The Phrom Pong BTS Skytrain station is conveniently only a 500-meter walk away, making outings and shopping trips highly accessible.
Typically, Hilton Diamond members receive upgrades to executive rooms or elegant suites (54 sqm) that boast additional sofa areas. The rooms adopt more of a business hotel style, dialing down the vacation vibes a bit. The hotel maintains a fairly good condition thanks to a portion of its rooms being renovated.
The lounge offers a simple selection. Between 5 and 7 PM, it's possible to fill up on hot meals, fruits, and desserts. The rooftop pool is a standout feature, though not large, it's ideal for a leisurely swim and making a splash. Given its close proximity to the subway station, the hotel is surrounded by numerous Japanese restaurants and massage shops.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok
- Opening Year: 2013
- Reference Price: $100
- Points for a free room: 30,000 points
- Location: Khlong Toei District
- Hotel website:DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok
This hotel isn't particularly generous with room upgrades. The basic rooms are around 28 square meters, and some do not come with a bathtub. Their superior rooms, approximately 32 square meters, offer good value for money. There is no executive lounge here, but Diamond members who receive room upgrades are treated to cookies and breakfast.
The hotel features a swimming pool, which is on the smaller side. For a more comfortable stay and access to a lounge, the neighboring Hilton could be a better choice. This property is ideal for those focused on exploring and sightseeing.
DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit
- Opening Year: 2018
- Reference Price: $90
- Points for a free room: 28,000 points
- Location: Khlong Toei District
- Hotel website:DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit
The hotel is excellently located, just 100 meters into Sukhumvit 2 Street, and within walking distance to Nana, making it a preferred choice for many due to its locale.
The hotel privileges Diamond members with room upgrades to select rooms that come with an extra sofa. They also receive a complimentary dual breakfast, a welcome cookie, and a beverage voucher for daily use. With approximately 35 square meters of room area, not all types include a bathtub. Yet, given this location and price, these rooms are surprisingly impressive.
The hotel doesn't have a lounge and offers an average breakfast. The pool is not very large but suffices for a quick dip.
Conrad Koh Samui Residences
- Opening Year: 2011
- Reference Price: $800
- Points for a free room:45,000 points
- Location: Koh Samui
- Hotel website:Conrad Koh Samui Residences
This hotel is a worthy flagship of the Conrad brand, nestled into a hillside overlooking the crystalline waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Concealed within lush 25-acre woodland, it encompasses 81 luxurious villines, each complete with a private pool and terrace. Every villas offers a panoramic or partial sea view, and the sight of majestic sunsets.
Most Hilton members who come here opt for points redemption due to its value. Being all villas, the Hilton Honors Diamond level upgrade depends on room availability and usually takes place up one category. Diamond members receive a teddy bear that can be embroidered with their names. Other privileges include a complimentary welcoming fruit basket, breakfast for two, late checkout (subject to availability), 2,500 points for Spa expenses over $125 (which may vary), and a 25% discount on dining, including room service.
All rooms are pool villas starting at 130 square meters, with differing views based on their location’s elevation. While lower areas might have more obstructed views due to vegetation, the higher areas offer more stunning sea views. In any event, the sunsets are always magnificent from every room type.
The hotel offers a variety of complimentary activities like poolside yoga, Tai Chi, Thai kickboxing, and beach volleyball, which require advanced booking. Yet, feedback from friends traveling with me agrees that the preferred daily routine involves simply reclining by the gorgeous sea and losing oneself in the tranquil beauty. It's truly a captivating and therapeutic experience.
For those seeking a bit more, the Sunset Bar promises a lovely setting to watch the sunset, enjoying a refreshing drink. The Zest restaurant offers a remarkable sea view for breakfast. The buffet receives high marks, offering unlimited coconuts, which many guests enjoy before taking one to go.
Hilton Pattaya Hotel
- Opening Year: 2017
- Reference Price: $200
- Points for a free room: 75,000 points
- Location: Pattaya
- Hotel website:Hilton Pattaya Hotel
This hotel is a rightful landmark and hotspot in Pattaya. The hotel lobby and bar occupy the 17th floor, with fiber fabric installed on the ceiling as a unique design element. As the light penetrates through the linear fabric, it softens the entire ceiling, creating an effect reminiscent of sea waves.
They're pretty generous when it comes to room upgrades, with Hilton Diamond members upgraded to Executive Sea View rooms with complimentary breakfast. The interior design primarily features neutral tones and a warm homely appeal. It is highly advised to opt for a double bed room in this hotel – aside from the traditional layout, the sea-fronting double bed rooms offer a more vacation-inspired atmosphere. Being a frontline building, there are no obstructions to the stunning sea view. It's indeed superb!
The infinity pool on the 16th floor is super popular, especially during sunset. The photos taken during this time are undoubtedly beautiful. Additionally, the beach is just a 2-minute walk away from the hotel, and it's connected to the CentralFestival Pattaya Beach shopping mall, making dining and shopping extremely convenient.
The breakfast at the hotel caters to a variety of nationalities. The lounge quality is commendable with enjoyable evening happy hours and excellent quality food. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge provide an excellent view. If you're in Pattaya, you definitely must visit this hotel.
DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort
- Opening Year: 2019
- Reference Price: $129
- Points for a free room: 50,000 points
- Location: Phuket Island
- Hotel website:DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort
This hotel may not be super popular, but as there are no Hilton Hotels left on Phuket Island, the next best choice is the Hilton Garden Inn. Located in the city center, it is just across the road from Patong Beach, making dining very convenient. There are plenty of options nearby like convenience stores, Watsons, Starbucks, and massage places. As for the airport transfer, it'll take approximately one hour.
This hotel is a refurbishment of a local hotel, so it's not exactly brand new. The rooms are scattered across various wings of the hotel. Previously, guests would get upgraded to poolside rooms, but that doesn't happen as frequently now, even for Hilton Honors Diamond members. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast for two and a daily bar drink voucher per person. However, one downside is that the rooms can be quite noisy. Plus, the pool rooms have direct access to the pool and require curtains for privacy, which isn't ideal.
The hotel offers some complimentary activities that guests can reserve, such as Thai appetizer cooking lessons. The hotel doesn't feature a lounge, and the breakfast options are not very extensive. However, the quality of the food is good, and the dining environment is quite comfortable.
Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao
- Opening Year: 2021
- Reference Price: $140
- Points for a free room: 36,000 points
- Location: Phuket Island
- Hotel website:Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao
This hotel, the first Hilton Garden Inn in Thailand, was opened within the past couple of years. The highlights of this hotel are its affordable prices and rooftop pool. The hotel has 177 rooms, which are primarily around 20 square meters in size. The main difference between rooms is whether they have a balcony and their orientation. The internal style is relatively fresh and clean, but the soundproofing is not great. The hotel isn't on the sea, so there are no sea views.
It has one restaurant located on the first floor, and the breakfast options are not abundant. There is a shuttle bus for hotel guests to surrounding areas, including the beach, convenience stores, etc. Guests can also rent bicycles from the hotel.
Are you contemplating a trip to Thailand soon? Don't forget to consider the luxurious and top-rated Hilton Hotels in Thailand. Each offers a unique kind of luxury and comfort that caters to myriad preferences and needs, guaranteeing an unforgettable stay. Whether you yearn for the exotic and peaceful escapes offered at Conrad Koh Samui Residences, or the bustling city views and elegant sophistication at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, there's a Hilton property for everyone.
