Not long ago, Hyatt announced that this year's points redemption chart would be updated. Starting from March 26, 2024, some hotels will adjust their categories, and the points required for their free accommodation rewards will also be adjusted accordingly.
The announcement can be found here.
After this update, 137 hotels worldwide will be upgraded, and an additional 46 hotels will be downgraded in category. Therefore, overall, the value of points is depreciating.
This adjustment will be implemented on March 26, 2024. For reservations made prior to this date, if the hotel's category has been increased, you will not need to add points. Conversely, if the hotel's category is downgraded, the extra points you paid will be refunded. Hence, it is suggested for all to secure their points room as early as possible before the adjustment date.
